At aged just 22 he won Team GB's first Lightweight Olympic Gold Medal in the Men's Lightweight Double Sculls with his rowing partner Mark Hunter in Beijing, after an undefeated 2008 season. In the 2009 New Year's Honours List, Zac was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in recognition of Services to Sport, which he gratefully received at Buckingham Palace from HRH The Prince of Wales in June 2009. As well as his rowing career, Zac contributes regularly as a guest and motivational speaker at corporate and charity events throughout the UK. He has appeared on a number of prime time television productions, endorses a selection of products and still takes a keen interest in domestic rowing and school events whenever possible. |
